Conditions attached
- No citywide cap on the number of registrations found in Article X (Secs. 15-271 to 15-284) or on the city program pages. Registration is per building of up to 4 units under one roof.
- Fees above are for a whole-home, non-owner-occupied rental. Owner-occupied (homestead) renewal is $200.00 and its renewal inspection is waived if the application is filed before the August 1 deadline. Must hold State (DBPR transient public lodging) licence, Florida DOR sales tax registration, Broward County Business Tax Receipt and Broward Tourist Development Tax registration BEFORE applying, plus a City Business Tax Receipt (invoiced separately once the application is approved). Requires proof of ownership (or notarized owner authorization letter), sample lease, and a sketch/photo of off-street parking with the statement 'No on-street parking permitted'. Max overnight occupancy 2 persons per sleeping room (up to 4 children under 13 exempt); gatherings capped at 1.5x overnight occupancy and never more than 20 persons; a noise level detection device is required (data kept 180 days); 24/7 responsible party required; hard-wired interconnected smoke/CO alarms, fire extinguisher per floor, landline phone; annual inspection; certificates expire every September 30 (renewal deadline August 1); $100.00 late fee for late/incomplete renewals; $50.00 transfer rental agent fee. Accessory dwellings in zoning districts RS-8 and RD-15 cannot be used as vacation rentals (ULDR Sec. 47-19.2.A.7). Penalty for operating without a valid certificate is $1,000 per day per the amendment approved September 15, 2026 (Ordinance C-26-39).
